Rule One : Question Everything Except Rule Two

Rule Two : Never Question the Wisdom of Rule One

Learn to fly starting on the worlds first Dual Control Tandem paraglider G-BZJI when the conditions permit many of our new pilots get their first (often an hour long!) flight on this Nova X-large 37 where due to our unique methods they get to SAFELY spend up to 50 minutes on the controls often including the landing or multiple 'touch & goes'

Key Benefits

  • Safety; highly experienced pilot on board not only to over ride the controls but to give real time talk through what AND why the wing does what it does.
  • Safe regression; Vast reduction in risk of picking up and reinforcing any bad habits.
  • Almost no 'Parawaiting'; Most training tends to involve many wasted trips, and narrow 'windows' due to wind/weather, by using the dual control this almost never happens with us.

Before starting solo flying the new pilot has flown most of the tasks required to safely complete solo flights (including landing approaches) a number of times with a variety of conditions.

To meet the requirements of the ANO tandem flying MUST involve training and also requires club membership, one of the questions we are frequently asked is if flights can be done to raise funds for charity, unfortunately unlike skydiving (by the way we recommend SkyDive St Andrews) charity tandem flights are not permitted under UK airlaw

this is reflected in the fact that the clubs founder flys the only paragliders that have UK aircraft registrations, international ICAO Callsign and is fully licensed to talk to ATC (using type approved licensed radio equipment) etc... etc....

More importantly at PPC we reject the practices & theories which have prevailed in paragliding, despite the many accidents, year in year out, that the sport has due to those errors.
